TYPES OF ASSESSMENTS OFFERED

LEARNING DIFFICULTY DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENTS (DYSLEXIA, DYSCALCULIA, DYSGRAPHIA)

This is a comprehensive assessment aimed at helping parents, schools and the child to understand their learning and any learning differences that they present with. The assessment consists of a cognitive test (learning profile), attainment tests of reading, spelling, comprehension and mathematics conducted over approximately 3 to 4 hours.

CHILD AND TEENAGER ADHD ASSESSMENTS (ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER)

This very comprehensive assessment helps to ascertain whether the individual meets diagnostic criteria for ADHD based on the DSM-V clinical criteria. The assessment consists of the administration of a standardised cognitive assessment and completion of standardised norm based rating scales.

SCHOOL ADMISSION ASSESSMENTS

Many schools around the world request an updated, or new psycho-educational assessment in order to ensure that they can meet a child's academic and social/emotional needs. Some schools require these assessments if you are applying for a Gifted and Talented programme. The assessment tools used depend on the specific criteria of the school.

EXAM ACCOMMODATION/ACCESS ARRANGEMENT ASSESSMENTS (IGCSE, IB, A LEVEL, US SCHOOL SYSTEM)

These assessments are required by examination boards if a parent or school wants to request accommodations such as additional time, laptop use, calculator use, a reader or scribe, for their child when writing examinations. Usually this consist of a cognitive assessment (due to the Working Memory and Processing Speed composite scores), an attainment test and a handwriting speed test. Any additional tests are dependent on the child's needs.

GIFTED AND TWICE EXCEPTIONAL ASSESSMENTS

Gifted children also need assessments at times, usually for school placement. There is also a less well known and understood complex profile known as 'Twice Exceptional' or 2e. These students are gifted intellectually; however, have additional learning, attention or social emotional needs that can impact on their ability to reach their full potential.
