DIRECTOR & CONSULTANT EDUCATIONAL
PSYCHOLOGIST

I am a Consultant Educational Psychologist who has practiced in the UK and in Singapore since 2010. I returned to Cape Town at the end of 2020; however, have continued to work with children and adults remotely throughout South East Asia and Europe. 

 I completed my professional training Doctorate in Educational, Child and Adolescent Psychology through the Institute of Education, University of London. I previously played a pivotal role as part of a multi-professional diagnostic team in the UK, working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/s, as well as other complex developmental disorders and learning differences. As part of my day to day role as an Educational Psychologist I offer psychological consultation, psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions.

 

I work very closely with the schools who refer children for assessments in order to ensure a holistic and realistic evidence based approach to their support. I also work closely with a multi-professional team of consultant psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, speech and language therapists and executive function coaches.   I believe in a solution focused approach to practice, where the focus is not on the 'problem' but rather on the exploration of the person's strengths and specific learning styles in order to ensure that they are supported optimally to reach their full potential.

I am currently also consulting for a UK based therapeutic programme, The Realingnment by AMK,  as part of their multi-disciplinary team, in addition to private diagnostic assessments.  This programme is aimed at supporting parents of bright, capable children aged 5–25 who are struggling emotionally, behaviourally, or academically—despite effort, support, or intervention.
